Kate Winslet put a lot of herself into her next film. Leewardand that included paying part of the crew’s salaries.
According to the film’s producer, Kate Solomon, it was revealed that Kate personally paid two full weeks of salaries for the film’s crew and that was in addition to securing financing for the film.

“Kate held the film inside her,” said Kate S. Fashion. “If you talked to her about anything, she knew what her opinion was. And when you have that, you can boost everyone who supports that person. It seems easy, but having lived with it, you can say: Oh my God, it’s a lot of work to get to that point.
Cinematographer Ellen Kuras also praised Kate’s involvement in the film, sharing with IndieWire that she “was very involved in the film from A to Z.”
“From all the research to having extensive conversations about who we wanted to cast, talking about who could play different roles,” Ellen told IndieWire.
