Princess of Wales Kate Middleton underwent abdominal surgery on January 19. Middleton stepped back from performing her royal duties as part of her recovery. But months passed without her appearing publicly. Her absence left many people worried.
The Royal Family has not yet detailed the reason for Kate’s abdominal surgery. But details are starting to emerge about her medical procedure. TMZ spoke with Dr. George Crawford about the possible procedure she could have undergone. Dr. Crawford suggested that Kate may have had a hysterectomy.
A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the womb (uterus). You will no longer be able to get pregnant after the operation. Dr. Crawford suggests that the surgery could have been a failure.
“If that is, in fact, what she went through…he breaks down how it normally happens in terms of actual planning and operation…telling us that it’s possible that things can sometimes go wrong,” TMZ wrote.
“In the case of a patient experiencing adhesions or scar tissue, Dr. Crawford says it is not uncommon for additional organs to be removed out of necessity… although we are not sure this applies to Kate. He is simply theorizing about why she may have been hospitalized for so long.”

Television analyst Piers Morgan says he spoke to a source who said doctors may have encountered a problem during the procedure. It could be the reason his hospital stay lasted two weeks.
“The same goes for Piers Morgan… who tells us he spoke to a source who claims doctors may have encountered a problem during any surgery she had planned… which could explain the long hospital stay. “She says she doesn’t know what her original surgery was for,” TMZ added.
