Although the time and location of the photograph remains uncertain, the image appears to subtly honor the late Queen Elizabeth. Princess Charlotte is captured next to pale pink flowers, known as Clematis Elizabeth flowers, named after Queen Elizabeth.
Fans expressed their birthday wishes in response to the post on social media.
“Happy birthday to Princess Charlotte,” wrote one royal admirer. “Beautiful inside and out. Supportive sister, loving daughter. I’m enjoying watching her grow and flourish. I hope baking the cake was fun!
Some residents of X noticed the striking resemblance that Princess Charlotte has to Prince William.
“She is growing up very fast and isn’t she the image of her father? Happy birthday little one,” wrote one royal fan. “William literally said, “Copy and paste.” Happy birthday,” another fan joked.
Kate Middleton’s latest family portrait follows photo-altering controversy
The birthday photo was posted almost two months after the Princess of Wales faced a photo editing scandal when she shared a photo with her three children, George, Charlotte and Louis, on Mother’s Day in the UK.
Middleton confessed to altering the photo after noticing inconsistencies, particularly the absence of her engagement and wedding rings.
Charlotte was last seen in public on Christmas Day, accompanying her family to church on the Sandringham estate. She and her siblings have stayed away from public scrutiny recently, during a period of turmoil for her family.
Kate Middleton, who has kept a low profile throughout 2024, revealed in March that she was diagnosed with cancer.
“I wanted to take this opportunity to personally thank you for all the wonderful messages of support and understanding while I was recovering from surgery,” Middleton revealed in the video posted in March.
“It has been an incredibly difficult couple of months for our whole family, but I have had a fantastic medical team who have looked after me very well, which I am very grateful for.”
He detailed that after his abdominal surgery in December, his condition was initially considered “non-cancerous.” However, subsequent tests revealed the presence of cancer. Her medical team recommended starting chemotherapy.
He mentioned the time needed to recover from surgery, begin treatment and explain his condition to his children, George, Charlotte and Louis, while assuring them of his recovery.
