Kate Middleton and Prince William celebrate 13th anniversary with never-before-seen wedding photo amid cancer battle

Celebrating a day so close to their hearts, Kate Middleton and Prince William celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary with a never-before-seen wedding photo.

In their latest Instagram post, the Prince and Princess of Wales posted a black and white photo showing Middleton in her wedding dress by designer Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and William in his red Irish Guards tunic. The couple captioned the post with “13 years ago today!”

Kate Middleton and Prince William married on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London. The royal couple met while attending St. Andrews University and became engaged in 2010.

The couple has since had three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Their most recent obstacle is Middleton’s current health problems. She is undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

Kate Middleton announced the diagnosis on X (formerly Twitter) last month. She had previously undergone abdominal surgery.

Along with Middleton, Prince William’s father, King Charles, is also undergoing cancer chemotherapy.

Kate Middleton and Prince William previously spoke about their friendship, breakup and comeback

During their 2010 engagement interview, Prince William talked about his first meeting with Kate Middleton.

“When I met Kate for the first time, I knew there was something very special about her,” William said when announcing the engagement. “And then I knew there was possibly something I wanted to explore there, but we ended up being friends for a while.”

Prince William said his and Kate Middleton’s friendship was a “good foundation” for them. “Now I really believe that being friends with [each other] “It’s a big plus,” William said.

After graduating, the couple decided to split up to do some “self-exploration,” which Middleton admitted she originally wasn’t happy about.

“It actually made me a stronger person,” Middleton said of the breakup. “You discover things about yourself that you might not have realized; I think relationships can be quite consuming when you’re younger, and I really valued that time for myself as well.”

The breakup didn’t last long and the duo began going on a series of “secret” dates. Three years after meeting, Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton while they were vacationing in Kenya with friends.

“When it came it was a total spectacle,” Middleton said of the proposal. “There’s a real romantic in there.”

Prince William then said: “As all men will know, it takes a certain amount of motivation to get going. So I was planning it and then I felt very good in Africa. It was beautiful.”
