Kamlesh Patel is an Indian spiritual intellectual, entrepreneur and author. He is the fourth spiritual guide in the line of Rajayoga gurus in the Sahaj Marga system of Rajayoga meditation. In 2023, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian award, by the Government of India.

Kamlesh Desaibhai Patel was born on Friday, 28 September 1956 (age 66 years; as of 2022) in Kalla, a village in Bharuch district of Gujarat, India. His zodiac sign is Libra. After finishing school, he joined the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. Subsequently, he joined LM College of Pharmacy, Ahmedabad, where he graduated with honours. At the age of 24, he moved to the United States and practiced pharmacology in New York City.

When Daji moved to New York City, he made his living as an entrepreneur. He owns several pharmacies in Brooklyn, including Marg Pharmacy Inc., Pharmacy Inc. Carewell, Lindenwood Rx Center Inc., Woodhull Rx Prescription Center, and Slope Drugs & Surgical Supply.

In 1976, inspired by Swami Vivekananda, he started practicing Heartfulness Meditation and also started meditating himself. Later that year, he met his guide Sri Ram Chandra (Babuji) of Shahjahanpur, the founder and first president of Sri Ram Chandra Mission, a non-profit Indian organization that teaches the practice of Sahaj Marg. In October 2011, he was declared the successor to Shri Ram Chandra. In August 2012, he was appointed Vice Chairman of Shri Ram Chandra Mission. He later returned to India, where he lived in the Garden of Hearts in Chennai. After Chariji’s demise on 20 December 2014, Daaji became the third president of Shri Ram Chandra Mission.

He established Kanha Shanti Vanam, a meditation center in Chepur, Hyderabad, where lakhs of practitioners from India and abroad gather to learn and practice meditation.

In 2018, Patel co-authored the book The Heartfulness Way with Joshua Pollock, which was one of the top 10 best-selling non-fiction books in the Hindustan Times Nielsen chart in February 2018. In February 2019, he released a book Designing Destiny. was issued. In 2022, he wrote The Wisdom Bridge, based on life principles. Daaji’s articles have been published by many popular media houses including Huffington Post, Chicago Tribune, Times of India and Business Standard. In 2016, Daaji hosted a podcast called Dil Ki Awaaz, which was broadcast on Radio City.

  • When he was young he wanted to become a doctor.
  • In an interview, he said that despite passing the cut-off of the Open Medical Test by scoring 241 marks out of 300, he was denied admission to a medical college because another student with similar marks was denied a seat because of his score. Got it. More marks than Daaji in Biology. Since Daji’s family did not allow him to apply to medical colleges outside Gujarat, he applied for admission to LM College of Pharmacy in Ahmedabad. However, he was denied admission as the college refused to admit students from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, from where he had completed his graduation. Despite the refusal, Daji filled the application form and asked the management to consider him. Later, he was called to the principal’s office, where the principal told him that since Daaji had performed well in graduation, he would allow Daaji to pursue a course in pharmacy from college.
  • One of Daaji’s classmates offered to take him to a meditation instructor. He attended his first meditation session under proper guidance. According to Daaji, this was his most memorable meditation so far.
