Kajal practiced law for more than eight years. Kajal was involved in a high-profile criminal case in 1993 when she and her legal team defended Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt in the Mumbai blasts case. He successfully secured bail for the actor following which Kajal left her practice after doing so for over eight years. In an interview, Kajal talked about why she left this profession after Sanjay Dutt asked her to,
I was very tired running back and forth between Arthur Road Jail and home. It was tiring. It wasn’t for me. I don’t know whether I left the law or the law left me, but what happened was that after the Sanjay (Dutt) case, I was so tired that I took a break… and never came back. I just found the system to be too time consuming and I’m a person who likes to see quick results. So I took the time and experimented.
In an interview, while talking about leaving her practice, Kajal Anand said that she was bored with her job and further said,
It’s a cliché, but I believe justice delayed is justice denied. I didn’t have the patience to wait for years for a decision to be made. This is a country where a man can get out on bail after cooking his wife in a tandoor. I didn’t want to be in a situation where I represented someone who was accused of rape… and got away with it. I left the job before I became disillusioned.”

Kajal Anand is co-partner in a fashion boutique ‘Reverie’ with her close friends fashion designer Manish Malhotra and businesswoman Avanti Birla. There he worked as operations manager. Reverie is located in Walkashevar, South Bombay; However, it went out of business. In an interview she talked about how she was unable to work there and said,
If you look at me you will know that fashion is not my field. I was a misfit. When you don’t have passion for something, you perform poorly in that role.”
Later, he co-partnered with Avanti Birla and launched Yantra, an ultra-luxe furniture store named Yantra Furniture and Accessories Pvt. Ltd. After seeing the increasing number of furniture stores in the market, Kajal ventured into skincare and launched a med spa named Evolve, which was also a collaboration between Yash Birla Group and Pacific Healthcare. She talked about how she wanted to bring her ideas into reality in an interview and said,
I’ve been thinking about this idea for a long time. I travel a lot and see how people in the West think about cosmetic surgery; This is very normal. But it’s still a big thing here – people have this fear. There is also a lot of misinformation out there and a lot of quacks.”
Kajal Anand has served as director of several private companies including Birla Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd. (on 16 February 2001), Birla Concepts India Pvt. Ltd. (on 17 March 2002), Global Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. (on 15 December 2007), Deja-Vu Entertainment Pvt. was appointed. Ltd. (15 December 2007), and Pinnacle Wellbeing Pvt. Ltd. (16 April 2012).
