Jyotsna Patni was born on 7 July and hails from Tanakpur, Uttarakhand, India. She did her schooling from St. Francis High School, Tanakpur, and pursued a bachelor’s degree (2010–2013) in Mass Communication and Media Studies from Chitkara University, Chandigarh. Later, she earned a master’s degree in Communication and Journalism from Osmania University, Hyderabad (2014-2016).

Jyotsna Patni is married to Rohit Badiyal, who is an army personnel. She has no children (in 2020).
livelihood
Jyotsna Patni started as a freelance journalist for the newspaper ‘The Times of India’. Subsequently, she was an intern at NDTV, New Delhi. He then worked as an assistant producer on Day & Night News (2013–2014). She has also worked as a news anchor with Network 18 ETV (2014–2017). In August 2017, she started working in India TV as a news anchor cum correspondent.

- In a podcast, Jyotsna said that she kept herself busy doing backend production and editing work instead of being on camera during her college days. But when he started working with news channels, he was much surprised when he was offered the job of an anchor. Also, during the podcast she revealed that she is the youngest national news anchor.
- During the podcast, he also told that famous Bollywood celebrity Disha Patani is his cousin. During their childhood days, Jyotsna and Disha used to spend their summer holidays together at their grandparents’ house. When she was sharing her childhood memories with Disha, she said,
Disha’s eldest sister Khushboo Di used to be our gang leader. Disha and I followed her instructions.

- Jyotsna was a national level player of long jump and high jump as well as a state level player of boxing. During her school days, her friends were of the opinion that she could pursue a career in sports or join the army. But Jyotsna’s conservative ‘Indian mother’ feared that she might get injured on her face during boxing and would face difficulty in getting marriage proposals.
- She loves traveling and actively participates in adventure sports.
- She is a pet lover and loves spending time with her pet dog, whom she calls ‘Babe’ on her social media accounts.

- Apart from being fluent in English and Hindi, Jyotsna can also speak Pahari languages, one of which is Kumaoni.
- She is a fitness enthusiast and has a sporty looking body. She not only does yoga regularly, but also tries to achieve perfection in it. ‘Shirshasana’ (Shirshasana) is his favorite asana.
