Currently, he is ranked fourth in the world.

Jyothi Surekha Vennam was born on Wednesday, 3 July 1996 (age 27 years; as in 2023) in Challapalli, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Cancer. He completed his schooling from Nalanda Vidyaniketan, Vijayawada. He studied B.Tech and MBA from KL University, Andhra Pradesh. He started swimming at the age of 3. In 2001, she set the record for being the youngest person to swim 5 km across the Krishna River in three hours, 20 minutes and six seconds. His name was included in the Limca Book of Records. With limited swimming opportunities in her city, she turned to archery and joined an academy. At the age of 11, he started practicing archery and participated in junior level tournaments.

At the 2021 World Archery Championships, she became the first Indian to win one gold, three silver and three bronze medals.
