After a while, gunfire rang out, and three police officers were shot. Pope County authorities confirmed the presence of a firearm at the scene and reported multiple injuries, including the suspect. A Starbuck police officer and a Pope County deputy suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds. They are no longer in the hospital. Owen, however, could not be saved and took his last breath. The Minnesota BCA has been asked to investigate this fatal shooting and additional information will be released soon.
