Through the publication of around 40 publications in prestigious national and international journals, he has made a significant contribution to the practice and research of civil engineering.
His professional highlights include working from 2013 to 2017 as the Deputy Director and then the Full Director of the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi’s Centre for Entrepreneurship Development. He oversaw the creation of seven workshops during this time, boosting students’ entrepreneurial abilities and producing Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the organization.
Prof. Utsev was appointed as the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Water Resources and Environment in Benue State in 2017 as a result of his contributions to the advancement of environmental engineering and water resources. Here, he was instrumental in overseeing the development of numerous engineering projects, including drainage systems, roads, bridges, dams, and boreholes.
