Jordan Poole declared for the NBA Draft in 2019, confident that he would be drafted. “He said the only way I won’t be drafted is if I go to these training sessions blindfolded with my hands tied behind my back,” said Monet, Poole’s mother. ATM4.
Poole was drafted by the Golden State Warriors, earning a spot alongside Klay Thompson and Steph Curry. However, Jordan failed to make an immediate impact, forcing the Warriors to send him to the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA G-League.
Poole’s patience and hard work ultimately paid off, as he played a crucial role in the Warriors’ 2022 Championship triumph, finishing the season with the highest free throw percentage in the NBA.
Jordan’s athletic parents knew he would star in the NBA Finals.
Jordan was born on June 19, 1999 to Monet and Anthony Poole and grew up with a brother and sister. Monet and Anthony were athletes during their high school and college days. jordan said the athletic:
“My dad (Anthony) played basketball in high school and played soccer in college. He was more of a soccer player. My mom (Monet) was an athlete in high school but not in college.”
The Poole family watched the home team, the Milwaukee Bucks, play all season. Anthony ran a gym on Sundays on the north side of Milwaukee and often brought Jordan with him.
Jordan was too young to play, so he waited until the games were over before sneaking in to shoot. Starting in first grade, Jordan shot an NBA ball through a 10-foot hoop. Needless to say, he missed a lot of shots, but he was determined to get it right. anthony said the ringer which discouraged Jordan from secretly shooting.
“Even though it was a man-sized basketball, I was always trying to make it,” Anthony said. “I was determined, like, ‘Okay, I’m going to do this eventually.’

In high school, Jordan was a 3-point pro. Anthony demanded perfection and would let Jordan know that he couldn’t let his high standards slip away from him. Old Poole once said to his son (for whitening report):
“You played terrible. If you want to be like any other kid and have fun, that’s fine. But if you want to play in the NBA, you’re not going to make it by playing like you did this weekend. You’re not going to be lucky to play overseas.”
Jordan and Anthony didn’t speak to each other for weeks, but the message got through. When Jordan declared himself in the NBA, his parents knew that he would make it to the finals.
“I always knew that I would be here,” Anthony said before the 2022 NBA Finals. “I always knew, in a way, that he would be here.”
Jordan’s parents raised him to be respectful when challenging authority.
Jordan’s drive and discipline were evident from an early age. He often convinced his father to allow him to spend more time at the gym. “He’d say, ‘Dad, can we go to the gym?’ I’m like, ‘Dude, it’s nine at night. He told me, ‘I know, let’s work out,’” Anthony added.
Monet and Anthony would force Jordan to do ten pushups every time he missed a free kick, making him the free kick master he is today. monet said ATM4:
“How many pushups for a free kick? Ten. So we’d tell him to drop it and sit back and watch him do push-ups for missed free throws. Yeah, I don’t know, there’s really no reason to miss one. He knows I’m upset when he does it.”
Jordan had the talent, drive and discipline to succeed, but he lacked the right temperament. Therefore, Jordan’s parents trained him to defy authority and be respectful when doing so. Jordan explained:
“I was never a bad kid or did anything to get in trouble. But if I wanted to stand out without being obnoxious, I would, whether you’re wearing that, listening to that, whatever you’ve talked about, whatever question you’ve asked.”
Jordan probably wouldn’t have survived games against adults without his desire to challenge all decisions against him or annoy opponents by missing shots. Poole’s attitude helped him develop grit, allowing him to overcome challenges later in his career.
“I’m not saying you can’t show fear or show weakness,” Jordan said. the ringer, “but it will be magnified if you did. Then she got to a point where she wasn’t afraid anymore.”
Poole turned to his father and coaches when the going got tough in his career.

The first major setback in Jordan’s career came when he arrived at the University of Michigan to play for the Michigan Wolverines. He had hoped to book a spot in the starting lineup right away, but coach John Beilein used it sparingly.
“Not playing after working so hard up to this point is one of the most horrible feelings I’ve ever had,” Poole said. bleach reports. “I do not wish it to anyone”.
Poole did not give up, but the lack of playing time affected him. He turned to his father and his coaches for advice, gradually improving his status on the team and earning himself a starting job.
Jordan spent two seasons with the Wolverines before declaring for the NBA Draft. He tried out for several teams but knew that he would play for the Golden State Warriors. anthony said wtmj:
Jordan said, I’m going to Golden State. I mean, it was like he came back from practice with Orlando, he came home and then he had one more practice with the Bucks, and then he had to come back for another practice with the Warriors. He said on the plane, God gave him a sign ”.
Poole joined the Golden State Warriors as he had predicted, but hit a rough patch in his first season. Jordan’s lack of strength meant defenders could intimidate him, and his poor defensive work rate surprised the Warriors’ coaches.
Jordan needed to bulk up and he put a lot of effort into it. Anthony was surprised when Jordan displayed strength during a trip to the gym in Milwaukee before displaying his trademark sharpness when shooting.
“I went home and told my wife, I was like, ‘That guy is a pro.’ She said, ‘Yeah, I know, he’s in the league. I said no.’ I told him: ‘You don’t understand me’. I told him, ‘I trained him all my life.’ I said, ‘He didn’t miss them.’ I told him, ‘The way he was throwing the ball, he wasn’t hitting anything but the net.’”
