Suleika Jaouad gained a lot of knowledge from her diagnosis. She wrote a short story for the newspaper after receiving her initial diagnosis, and readers flocked to read it. She currently has a solid reputation as an author and motivational speaker. She is a frequent contributor to The New York Times’ ‘End Life’ column.

She has also contributed to numerous other publications, including Women’s Health, Glamour, All Things Considered on NPR, Vogue and many others. In addition, Suleika published her autobiography, “Between Two Kingdoms,” which achieved New York Times bestseller status. Jaouad, 35, first battled leukemia in her 20s and underwent numerous treatments. Despite successful therapies, she fell ill again in her early 30s. With her husband Jon Batiste by her side the whole time, she underwent a bone marrow transplant and other grueling treatments during her illness.

The bestselling author opened up about her battle with leukemia in an interview with Vogue magazine in March 2022:

“I’m actually feeling good today. I believe I’m on day plus-32 post-transplant and I’ve been out of the hospital for almost exactly a week.”

Jaouad is doing well at the moment, but he still goes to the hospital often. She received a second bone marrow transplant, which she says was more problematic than the first.

Jaouad also mentioned that she went through some of the worst physical suffering of her life during her second bone marrow transplant in a previous interview with The New York Times in 2022.

Although her partner and family were always by her side, she still feels “constantly amazed and grateful”. Jaouad also said that she got her first walker at the advanced age of 33.

Suleika Jaouad often updates her fans on social media about her life and health. Jaouad recently shared some stunning pictures of herself and her loved ones enjoying her 35th birthday in Switzerland.
