John Cena is one of the most famous professional wrestlers of all time. He has performed in front of stadiums filled with thousands of people throughout his career. But at times, the former WWE Champion does get nervous. Cena recently recalled that he regretted it the first time he met his wife, Shay Shariatzadeh, and found love.
“I wasn’t looking, but damn, man, he just found me. “So we watched the game and then, at the table right in front of us, a group of five people walked in. Man, I stopped watching the game. I didn’t even know it was over. I was so ad…, it was so bad. Here I am, h-– this was half a decade [ago]”I’m 40 years old and I’m too scared to approach this girl.” Cena said via People.
John Cena remembers meeting his wife
Cena met Shariatzadeh while watching the 2019 Super Bowl, cheering on his hometown New England Patriots at a local restaurant. The superstar remembers getting his wife’s number and immediately contacting her. The rest is history.
“I asked him for his number and he gave me his number, and I didn’t wait like two days [to reach out]” he added.
“I left the restaurant and on my way home I found [texted], “It was a pleasure meeting you, you are beautiful, I would like to get to know you more. If you have free time, I will make time for you.” She said, ‘Do you want to go out this weekend?’ I said, ‘Sure.’ “
WWE star regrets having problems with The Rock
Cena, a sixteen-time WWE Champion, has had feuds with several Hall of Famers. But his most notable beef was with fellow Hollywood star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Things got particularly heated when Cena criticized The Rock for leaving WWE to pursue a career as a movie star. He also questioned how much he loved the company. It’s a decision he now regrets.
“Oh my God, yes. It was for me [like]”I’m going to hit this guy because I have nothing to lose.” I have all the influence… My point of view came from the fact that he was openly saying, “I love WWE.” And I was like, ‘Man, if you love it, why aren’t you here?’ what a stupid thing [of me] say. “I am very sorry because I had a lot to lose,” Cena said.
The WWE Superstar went on to explain that now that he’s made the transition to Hollywood, he now understands things from Rock’s perspective.
“I can sit in front of you now and say I love WWE, but Slap “It’s in two days and I’m not going to be there,” he added. “And now I have to eat a bunch of s**t and say, ‘Damn, I was wrong, I’m sorry.'”
