Joseph A. Buttafuoco, born March 11, 1956, rose to fame after an event in 1992 that turned his life upside down. Amy Fisher, Joey’s then 17-year-old lover, went to his home in May 1992 with a loaded .25 semi-automatic handgun to confront his wife, Mary Jo Buttafuoco. Amy approached Mary and then shot her in the face. His wife Mary was left deaf in one ear and with a partially paralyzed face. The investigation into the incident produced a series of contradictory statements, which received a lot of publicity in the tabloids and mainstream media.
Joey’s relationship with Amy was revealed after Amy was convicted of assault. Amy accused Joey of encouraging her to kill his wife Mary, and even got her a gun. As further details of Joey’s offenses emerged, he was charged with 19 counts of statutory rape, endangering the welfare of a minor and sodomy. He initially pleaded not guilty, but then admitted that he had a sexual relationship with Amy despite the fact that she was only 16 years old.
The 62-year-old was sentenced to six months in prison, and was released after four months. On February 3, 2003, Mary Jo filed divorce papers when they went to California after Joey was released from prison and he had to be separated from his family, including his son and daughter.
Joey Buttafuoco is trying to live a normal life with his new wife Evanka.
Joey has a new life with his new wife, Evanka, whom he married in 2005. He met his wife while she was working as a repo lady in his company. She said she was hesitant to approach him at first, but stayed with him after hearing his story.

Evanka filed for divorce in May 2007, when Joey and Amy met at dinner and tried to watch a reality show about their lives. However, she eventually dropped the petition in June 2007 and the couple have been together ever since. Joey may still be haunted by visions from his past, but his wife has taught him to live his life “through the windshield, not the rearview mirror.” His son, Paul, has changed his last name and cut ties with him, while his daughter, Jessica, is trying to keep in touch with him. Joey is now trying to live a normal life as a freelance hotrod builder with a net worth of $20k. He didn’t mention starting a family with his wife, but if he did, he should be willing to devote every ounce of his power to providing them with a normal life, something his children with Mary didn’t have.
