Jodie Sweetin is ‘Disappointed’ Her Movie was Sold to Great American Family Following Candace Cameron Bure’s ‘Traditional Marriage’ Comment

Jodie Sweetin is far from thrilled about where her new movie Craft Me a Romance has ended up.

The 41-year-old Full House star spoke out after it was announced that the new movie would be released on the Great American Family channel, where her former co-star Candace Cameron Bure is the chief creative officer.

In a new interview, she admitted to being “disappointed” by the decision following Candace‘s controversial comments about how the network would highlight “traditional marriage” last year. She also revealed what she would be doing with her earnings from the film as a result.

“Sometimes, we, as actors, don’t have control over which network buys the projects we are in, nor are we a part of the process in which they get sold,” Jodie told People. “So I was very surprised to learn by reading about it in the press yesterday that the independent film I worked on over a year ago was sold to Great American Family.”

She continued, saying, “I am disappointed, but in keeping with my mission of supporting the LGBTQ+ family, any potential or future money made from this sale will be donated to LGBTQ+ organizations.”

Jodie reacted to Candace‘s comments, which was read as implying that the network would only highlight heterosexual couples, shortly after they were made last year. The two seemingly had a falling out after her response went viral.

If you missed it, Jodie recently debunked a theory about Full House.
