Wiki/Biography

He has studied till 12th class. Jitesh wanted to join the Indian Armed Forces since childhood. He initially started playing cricket during his school days as it gave him a chance to miss his classes. He continued the game to get some extra points to get recruited in the Indian Army. Talking about this in an interview, Jitesh said,
I really wanted to join the armed forces. In Maharashtra School Cricket, if you play state cricket you get 4% relaxation in army tests. I joined my school team because they played at the state level. I decided to give it a trial and so I started playing the game. My father never questioned me and the interesting thing is that my mother still doesn’t know that I am playing at a level like IPL. In those days, none of my cricket friends played the game – they all have normal jobs now.”
Further, sharing how he decided to make cricket his career, Jitesh said,
Somehow cricket has followed me. Once there were state trials for the BCCI Under-16 tournament and I scored runs there. But still the first option I had was Air Force and I told this to my father again. He agreed with my ambition but asked me to continue playing cricket to maintain my fitness levels. The next year I wanted to continue playing so I went for the Under-19 trials and once I got selected there too, I thought I can make something out of this cricket.
