Jim Wallerstein became famous as a member of the band Das Demen, in 1984. He is therefore the founder and vocalist of the band. The band member was Alex Totino, Phil Leopold von Trapp and Lyle Hysen.
In the year 1986, he released a self-titled debut album. He subsequently signed the band to SST Record. The band released their albums called Jupiter Eye and Triskaidekaphobia, under the record label.
