Jim Barnett’s NBA career began when the Boston Celtics selected him eighth overall in the 1966 NBA draft. He then spent three seasons with the Warriors (1971-1974) and five other teams during his 11-year career, including the San Diego Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Jazz, New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers. Barnett attempted a long shot against the rival Los Angeles Lakers while playing for the Trail Blazers in 1971.
Barnett’s dedication and love of the game allowed him to play with numerous Hall of Famers. In 732 games, this gifted athlete averaged 11.7 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists.
