Early life and childhood
Jeffrey Toobin was born on May 21, 1960 in New York City, New York, United States. He is 63 years and is under the astrological sign of Gemini. He has American nationality and his full name is Jeffrey Ross Toobin. And he was born into a Jewish-American family.

He then went on to work as associate counsel to independent counsel Lawrence Walsh during the Iran-Contra affair and the Oliver North criminal trial. He later moved to serve as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York in Brooklyn.
He also wrote a book, “Opening Arguments: A Young Lawyer’s First Case: United States v. Oliver North” in the year 1991. The book was based on his work at the Office of the Independent Counsel, which caused some controversy.
However, Walsh objected because Toobin went on to reveal information that was supposed to be kept private. She had to go to court to defend her right to publish and the judge ruled in her favor.

After working as a lawyer, he began working as a writer in 1993 at The New Yorker and in 1996 became a television legal analyst for ABC. He covered high-profile cases such as the OJ Simpson trial and the investigation of President Bill Clinton.
He even wrote books about these cases, which were later adapted for television. In 2000 he received an Emmy Award for his coverage of the Elián González custody saga. He was able to join CNN in the year 2002 as a legal analyst. Then, a year later, he got the first interview with Martha Stewart about the insider trading charges against her.
Likewise, Jeffrey is the author of a total of seven books. The 2007 book “The Nine: Inside the Secret World of the Supreme Court” received awards from Columbia University and Harvard University.

Zoom incident
Jeffrey Toobin was suspended from The New Yorker after masturbating on camera during a Zoom video call between New Yorker and WNYC radio staff. It was during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic on October 19, 2020.
However, he claimed that the incident was unintentional. CNN gave him some time off to deal with the situation. Toobin later apologized for his mistake.
Unfortunately, he was fired from The New Yorker after an internal investigation. Additionally, New York Public Radio banned it from its broadcasts. It was a controversial and embarrassing situation for him.
