Jayashree Ullal was born on Monday, 27 March 1961 (age 60 years; as in 2021) in London. She spent the first 5 years of her life in London and later came to India and pursued her graduation at the Convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from San Francisco State University and a master’s degree in engineering management from Santa Clara University.

Jayashree’s father’s name is Sudarajan Vedantam (Physicist) and mother’s name is Nirmala Vedantam. Jayshree gave a start to her career by working as a chip designer in a semiconductor company and developing high-speed chips for large organizations like IBM and Hitachi. He worked in the semiconductor industry for 11 years. In 1988, she moved to Ungermann-Bas as she developed her interest in marketing. This company generated an annual turnover of $40 million by developing and selling networking products. Soon, Ullal plans to join a startup company, Crescendo Communications. In 1993, it was acquired by Cisco Systems. At that time, Cisco was a well-established firm. As an executive at Cisco, he managed their business in key enterprise markets including wired closet switching, datacenter backbones to enhance Layer 2-3 convergence, and customer premises appliances for remote WAN access. Cisco was emerging as the leader in the LAN switching business with annual sales of $5 million. She also rose to senior vice president of data centers and switching and oversaw more than 20 mergers and acquisitions. Later, in 2008, she separated herself from the company and joined Arista Networks. In October 2008, Arista Networks co-founders Andy Bechtolsheim and David Cheriton appointed Jayshree Ullal as CEO and President of Arista Networks. Initially, when Jayshree joined the company, it was only a 4-year-old company with one employee. There was also a shortfall of 50 people in headcount and revenue. In June 2014, the company gained a market capitalization of $2.7 billion to $20 billion on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol ANET, after achieving a successful IPO. Additionally, Arista is a cloud networking company that is responsible for the deployment of 10/25/40/50/100 Gigabit Ethernet networking in the data center.
