Jared Leto climbs the Empire State Building and announces a 30-second tour to Mars

Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto made history by becoming the first person to climb to the top of New York City’s iconic Empire State Building. Leto undertook the daring climb, which reached 1,200 feet, in support of Thirty Seconds to Mars’ upcoming project. Seasons World Tour 2024.

In an exclusive interview with Today Following his promotion, the 51-year-old leader expressed his excitement over the achievement. “I made it, I’m alive, I made it to the top,” Leto said. “I was just saying that I saw my mother in the window on the 80th floor and she was a pleasant surprise.”

Leto, known for his adventurous spirit, emphasized the importance of climbing, revealing his deep connection to New York City since childhood. “It’s incredible to see the sun rise overlooking the city that has meant so much to me since I was a child,” he shared. “New York has been the place you went to make your dreams come true. And when I was a kid I wanted to be an artist, and New York was the place you came to be an artist, and the Empire State Building was always that symbol for me.”

The actor, with bloodied hands as proof of the challenging climb, explained his fascination with the Empire State Building. “I always had a fascination with the Empire State Building. I love climbing,” he said.

Despite the celebratory atmosphere, Leto admitted that the historic climb was more challenging than he anticipated. “I was more excited than nervous, to tell you the truth,” he shared. “But I have to be honest, it was very, very difficult. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Just the resistance that he needed, the resistance that he needed, was very sharp.”

Looking ahead, Leto humorously shared his plans for the next promotion: “You jump right into bed.”

Thirty Seconds to Mars’ Seasons World Tour 2024with Jared and Shannon Leto, is scheduled to begin in Latin America on March 15, with subsequent stops in Europe and North America beginning July 26. The tour will conclude in New Zealand on September 19.
