Jaihind Kumar was born in Uttar Pradesh, India. After completing his schooling in Uttar Pradesh, he moved to New Delhi, where he enrolled in Jamia Millia Islamia. Later, he joined the university’s theatrical group, the Pierrot Troupe, which was founded by Saeed Alam, and participated in several plays. During his undergraduate studies, he applied to the National School of Drama in New Delhi; However, he could not do so as he had not completed his graduation. After completing his graduation, he moved to Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, where he joined NSD affiliated Himachal Cultural Research Forum and Theater Academy Mandi and joined the first batch of the academy. There he did an acting course for one year.

After completing his formal education, Jaihind Kumar moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in the film industry. In Mumbai he auditioned for many films; However, he failed to get a role in any film. He got a chance to act in some supporting roles in TV serials but he was unhappy as a result of which he decided to leave acting temporarily and started screenwriting in which he also failed. In 2010, he got the role of a fruit vendor in the film Tum Milo Toh Sahi; She shared the screen with famous actors like Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia and Sunil Shetty. The same year, he appeared in the film Payback in which he appeared as Sandy. He played the role of a father in the 2015 short film Jaya, for which he was nominated at the Madrid International Film Festival under the Best Actor category. The same year, he appeared in the short film Miyan Kal Aana produced by Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
She got a big break in her acting career in 2016, when she got the role of Harnaam in a black comedy crime drama film titled Laal Rang, in which she shared the screen with Randeep Hooda. Talking about getting the role in the film in an interview, Jaihind said,
I was attending a small party at actor friend Manav Kaul’s house and there Siddharth Hussain introduced me to Syed Ahmed Afzal, who had directed Youngistaan. He was there sharing red music with everyone and I was really impressed by it. Then suddenly he offered me a role in the film. He didn’t even know that I was an actor. This was the role of a rickshaw puller. That’s how I got the role in the film.”
Jaihind Kumar got the role of a transgender character named Rani in the 2017 film Baaraat Company.
The same year, she starred opposite Manoj Bajpayee in the film Rukh. He directed a 2018 short film titled Utpatang. He got the role of a goon in the 2019 film Super 30 in which he shared the screen with Hrithik Roshan. He appeared in the 2021 film Shankar’s Fairies, which was screened at the Marché du Film – Festival de Cannes. The same year, she got a role in a short film Zero Kilometer, which was premiered at the Washington DC South Asian Film Festival.
In 2022, she got the role of Madho Donald in the MX Player web series Shiksha Mandal.
In May 2022, he appeared in a web series titled Escape Live, in which he starred alongside Jaaved Jaaferi; The series premiered on Disney+Hotstar. Jaihind Kumar worked as a screenwriter on the 2023 film Bole Chudiyan, starring famous actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rajpal Yadav. On 23 May 2023, he appeared opposite Manoj Bajpayee in the ZEE5 courtroom drama film Sirf Ek Banda Kafi Hai. The film was previously titled Banda and is based on the real-life story of a lawyer named PC Solanki, who fought against Asaram Bapu in the rape case of a minor girl.
