Jacob Elordi is under investigation for an alleged assault incident that allegedly took place during a confrontation with a radio producer.
The 26-year-old Australian actor has become one of the most sought-after movie stars today. His rise to fame is attributed to his notable performances in recent films such as salty burn and priscillain addition to starring in the HBO series Euphoria.
According to radio producer Joshua Fox, Elordi pressed him against a wall and grabbed his throat. This was in response to Fox mentioning a scene from salty burn which involved the character of Elordi.
During a segment on the Sydney-based show The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Fox shared his perspective on what happened. He said he approached Elordi outside a hotel. Fox jokingly asked for some water from his bath as a gift for the show’s host, Jackie O.
In a scene that has gained notoriety since salty burn, the character Félix, played by Elordi, indulges himself while bathing. Later, his friend Oliver (Barry Keoghan) proceeds to test the remaining water from Felix’s bath by licking the stopper.
Fox claims his prank didn’t go well, leading to alleged assault by Jacob Elordi
However, Fox’s prank didn’t go well, leading to the alleged assault by Jacob Elordi. During the on-air discussion Monday morning, Fox said he complied with Elordi’s request and stopped recording the interaction. Additionally, he expressed feeling “intimidated.”
“I believe that if I delete this footage, there will be no evidence that this encounter occurred,” Fox told hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O.
As Elordi’s entourage swarmed him, Fox said, he became afraid they might “attack” him. “And then Jacob just goes crazy. “He pushes me against the wall and his hands are on my throat,” Fox alleged.
Shortly after the alleged altercation, Fox allegedly visited Waverley police station. He filed a complaint, although he refused to give an official statement.
He is believed to have refused subsequent police requests for him to give a statement. Fox has indicated that she will not provide any additional comment beyond the on-air discussion that took place this morning.
In a statement given to Variety, New South Wales Police have confirmed they are investigating the ongoing matter. “Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are investigating after a man was allegedly assaulted outside a hotel in Sydney’s eastern suburbs,” the statement read.
“At around 3.30pm on Saturday 3 February 2024, police were informed that a 32-year-old man had allegedly been assaulted by a 26-year-old man. The man did not suffer any injuries. “Investigations into the incident continue.”
