- On June 2, 2023, Jackie’s sisters revealed that she was in the last month of her pregnancy and only a week away from giving birth when she experienced a brain aneurysm. This caused severe bleeding and injury to his brain. Jackie was found unconscious in her home in California and her husband Austin immediately took her to the hospital. Upon arrival, doctors performed an emergency C-section to deliver her daughter and also performed brain surgery on Jackie. The newborn was taken to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) where she remained for 12 days. Meanwhile, Jackie is put into a medically induced coma and has five different procedures performed on her brain.

- The Cleveland Clinic says that when a brain aneurysm bursts, about 25% of individuals, unfortunately, die within 24 hours, and about 50% do not survive within three months due to complications. Of those who survive, about 66% experience long-term brain damage. However, with proper medical care, it is possible to achieve full recovery without significant disability.
- In the GoFundMe campaign, his sisters wrote,
We are very sad to report that our sister, Jacqueline (Jackie), was nine months pregnant and one week past her due date, when she suffered an aneurysm rupture, causing severe bleeding and concussion in the brain. Jackie was quickly found by her husband, Austin, and taken to the emergency room and wheeled into surgery where they performed a simultaneous emergency C-section and brain surgery.
- A GoFundMe campaign successfully raised over $170,000 to aid Jackie’s recovery. The funds were used to provide various types of therapy, including speech therapy and physical therapy. Additionally, the money was used to make necessary modifications to Jackie’s home and to explore alternative treatments to aid her rehabilitation.
- After a month she recovered and came out of coma. In an Instagram post his family talked about his recovery and said,
We’re thrilled to say that your loving prayers for Jackie are working! Jackie is awake and has recently been transferred to one of the best neurological rehabilitation hospitals in the country. Doctors are pleased with her latest tests, numbers and evaluations, noting that Jackie is performing well beyond expectations at this stage of her recovery and making more progress with each passing day. We are currently considering rehabilitation needs, medical bills and insurance claims. The resources raised from the GoFundMe will allow us to continue to give Jackie the best care and every chance for recovery.
