Machine Gun Kelly has sparked speculation that he will change his name.

If you didn’t know, MGK’s real name is Colson Baker, which he uses for acting projects, but for music, he professionally goes by Machine Gun Kelly.

During a recent red carpet appearance at the GQ Men of the Year PartyThe 33-year-old musician asked photographers to call him something else, causing many others to wonder if he would change his stage name.

At the event, MGK asked photographers to simply call him “Machine.” She then followed up with an Instagram caption that read: “🗣️ ‘machine’.”

For some backstory, at a concert about a year ago, TikTok duo Chad and JT held a sign that said, “change your name!!!” and upon noticing it, he responded by saying, “I have no idea what that sign means.”

The duo then explained that they wanted him to change his name so as not to glorify machine guns.

Fast forward to MGK on the mat GQ party, and told the photographers: “I have a request. Instead of Machine Gun, can you just hit me with Machine from now on? “Just machine.”

So is it really changing its name to simply Machine?

E.W. reports that no, MGK will not be dropping Gun Kelly from his name and will continue to use Machine Gun Kelly.

However, maybe it will make photographers just say Machine.
