Creationism is the belief that the creation story in Genesis, the first book of the Bible, is the truth about the beginning of the world. Rives’ site says:
“The problem is that atheists, using evolutionary theories, claim to have refuted the accuracy of the Bible. What’s worse, the real facts are CENSORED. If you don’t have a Ph.D. In science, you often feel helpless when trying to defend your faith. We understand how convincing scientific arguments can seem, but you need to be prepared to know the truth.”
Ellis and Rives got engaged in April 2019 and married in June 2019. Two months later, they separated and began divorce proceedings. In a since-deleted Facebook post, Ellis claimed that Rives’ disregard for church authority contributed to its division. She explained:
“As you know, my husband David Rives chose to separate in August. He rejects all authority, responsibility, or biblical advice from the church regarding some very critical issues. It is time to walk openly in the truth and for the body of Christ to encourage my husband toward the truth and toward God, especially since he claims to be in ministry leadership and is ignoring his Christian duty in many ways.”
