Danielle Outlaw’s turbulent three-year tenure as Philadelphia Police Commissioner ended following her “voluntary” resignation. She will move east to work as deputy director of security for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. “The teamwork, innovative thinking and determination of my staff has kept the Department moving forward and I am very grateful for that,” Outlaw said.
The identity of Danielle Outlaw’s husband is unclear; she has two children
Danielle Outlaw has impressively kept the identities of her husband and two children a secret. Outlaw and her husband, also a law enforcement officer, have been together for more than two decades.
She said Philadelphia Magazine that one of his children is artistic and the other is an athlete. outlaw said the 19 in May 2020 that her children were in college in Georgia and California when the pandemic hit. She said:
“I had to fight like other parents and get them out of their home and take them to a safe place. I was able to fly my oldest son [in Georgia] here, but due to stay-at-home orders in California, I haven’t seen my youngest son in person since all of this happened. Obviously I run an organization here, but I’m still a mom when I come home.”
Outlaw said she and her husband talked to their children about police brutality long before the national Black Lives Matter protest in 2020. the 19 who urged his children to live a life of vigilance but without fear. She continued:
“When they were very little, we had conversations with them about the police (and their parents are police), how to interact with the police, what to do when you get stopped by the police, how some people in the world see them as young black men. “I don’t protect them from any of that.”
