Shea and Syd McGee are the star renovators of the new Netflix series Dream Home Makeover. The couple have been compared to makeover gurus Chip and Joanna Gaines, but they’re intent on doing their own thing. The couple’s home renovation business began after Shea, a Communications graduate, began showcasing her home renovation talents on social media.
A television production company approached the couple in 2014 about making a series about their business, but it didn’t work out. The couple’s subsequent success on YouTube led Netflix to seek a collaboration with them.
