Hugh Laurie is an actor, comedian, writer and musician from England. Hugh Laurie is widely known as one half of the comedy duo Fry and Laurie, along with Stephen Fry. Additionally, Laurie is also famous for taking home two Golden Globes for her role as Dr. House in the television series of the same name.
Early life and childhood
Hugh Laurie was born in Blackbird Leys, Oxfordshire, England, on June 11, 1959. His birth name is James Hugh Calum Laurie. He is 64 years with the zodiac sign Gemini. Laurie has British nationality and follows the Christian religion.
Regarding his family background, he is the son of William George Ranald Mundell “Ran” Laurie (Father) and Patricia Laurie (Mother). His father William was a doctor who won an Olympic gold medal in coxless pairs (rowing) in 1948 in London.

They soon found themselves writing and starring in the television comedy series Alfresco (1983-1984), alongside Robbie Coltrane, Ben Elton and fellow Footlights performer Emma Thompson.
Laurie’s involvement in Rowan Atkinson’s Blackadder II and other Blackadder sequels (from 1986) was a result of that. Additionally, she composed the music and appeared in 26 episodes of A Bit of Fry and Laurie.

Laurie joined the American television drama House in the early 21st century, playing the intelligent but haughty and conceited Dr. Gregory House.
Laurie’s popularity on television opened the doors for her to have supporting roles in films. She can also be seen in the 1995 film Sense & Sensibility.
Later, he starred in films such as Stuart Little (1999), Cousin Bette (1998), The Oranges (2011), Flight of the Phoenix (2004) and Tomorrowland (2015).
