Facts/General Knowledge
- Heart leased its equine partner, Emerald, a 14-year-old gelding, from Dutch international Ilse van Crannenbroeck in October 2022. In an interview, while talking about his bond with his horse, Emerald, Heart said,
Over the past year, I’ve learned that Emerald has a big ego, and you can’t force him to do anything unless he’s enjoying it. So, I have managed to understand their mindset and developed a good relationship. He has good experience of competing at the international level. I wish I had another year to train with him.”
- Hriday Chheda is the only Indian to win a CDI competition at the international level.
- In an interview, while talking about his experience in organizing the Asian Games, Hriday said,
My horse became really stressed by the atmosphere in the arena. There were a lot of people there! This environment is not something you can get every day. That’s why you can’t train for it. He was really scared and afraid to enter the field. I had to really put pressure on him to get him to believe, whenever he stopped and resisted going in one direction, I would turn him around and go in the other direction. We did this twice and then three times and finally, I won her trust again. Otherwise, we would not have won this medal today.”
