Chess is a two-player board game that has been around for centuries. The game was invented in the 6th century according to Google Arts and Culture.
This is a game of strategy and tactics and can be very difficult to master. But it’s also a very useful game and can be a lot of fun to play.
To play chess, you will need a board and a set of pieces. The chess board consists of 64 squares arranged in an 8×8 grid (8 rows and 8 columns).
The pieces are divided into two teams, white and black. Each team has 16 pieces:

The goal of chess is to place the opponent’s king in a position where he cannot escape to get caught. It’s called checkmate. If your king is all checked, you lose the game.
The game can be settled or continued until one of the kings is removed from the board.
There are several ways to check the opponent’s king. One way is to move one of your pieces so that it attacks the king. Another way is to capture one of the opponent’s pieces defending the king.
Layout of a chess game
Pawn: The pawn is placed in the penultimate row of the board, with all eight pawns on each side lined up in a row.
Cannons: Cannons are placed in the corners of the chessboard, one cannon on each side.
Knights: Knights are placed next to the cannons, with a knight on each side.
Bishop: Bishops are placed next to the knights, with a bishop on each side.
Queen: The queen is placed on a square of the same color as her team, in the middle of the back row.
King: The king is placed on the colored square opposite his piece, next to the queen.
How do the pieces move in chess?
To move a shape, simply pick it up and place it in an empty square. Parts can only move in certain ways, as follows:
Pawn: Pawns can be moved one or two tiles forward on their first move. The pawns can capture an enemy shape diagonally in front of them. When it reaches the eighth rank, it can be promoted to any other number.
Cannons: Cannons can be moved any distance horizontally or vertically.
Knights: Knights move in an “L” shape, two squares in one direction and one square in the other.
Bishops: Bishops can be moved any number of squares diagonally.
Queen: The queen can be moved any number of squares horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
King: The King can move a tile in any direction.
There are also some special rules in chess:
Actor: Acting is a move that allows you to move the king and rook to safety in one move. To use, you move the king to two adjacent squares, then move the rook to the square next to the king. You can only use it if your king and vehicle have not moved and there are no enemy units in between them.
En passant: En passant is a special catch that can only be made on the fifth move of a pawn. If a pawn moves two tiles forward on its first move and an opponent’s pawn is in the next row behind it, the opponent’s pawn can capture the first pawn as if it only moves one cell forward.
Promoted Pawn: When a Pawn reaches eighth rank, it can be promoted to any other piece. This is a powerful move that can be used to gain an advantage over your opponent.
