How To Beat The Stormhill Golem In Elden Ring

After Tarnished makes their way through Limgrave’s Stormgate’s defenses in Elden Ring, they will encounter a dormant Golem lying on its back south of Stormhill’s main path. Unlike most enemies up to this point, the Golem isn’t patrolling the area and will only become actively hostile once players approach it. Furthermore, it doesn’t have an “official” boss title or HP bar once it is awakened, meaning the Stormhill Golem in Elden Ring is intended to be one of the more manageable minor bosses in the Lands Between.

Nevertheless, novice Tarnished and newcomers to the “Souls-like” mechanics of Elden Ring may find this elite enemy to be quite intimidating and may even meet their demise by its massive halberd. The Lands Between is not lenient to the unprepared and can make even the lesser foes a big problem. Therefore, if players wish to overcome the Golem of Stormhill, they must understand its general mechanics.

Golems of the Lands Between are formidable creatures and have high resistance to most types of attacks. They move and strike slowly, but a successfully landed attack can spell instant death for Tarnished, especially in the early game. Tarnished may try to attack them from afar but to no avail, as arrows seem to bounce off its thick armor, and Elden Ring spellcasters run out of mana before the beast falls. Those attempting to attack the Golem at its feet may be pulverized by its feet or halberd. Fortunately, the Stormhill Golem has a very discernible weakness.

Stormhill Golem Fight In Elden Ring

If Tarnished looks closely at the Stormhill Golem’s ankles and wrists, they will notice that these parts of its body glow. These indicate the weak points of its massive frame, and if players strike in these areas, they will deal significantly more damage. Those firing arrows from a distance can aim for the Golem’s wrists or ankles, while melee fighters can focus their attack on those vulnerable spots. Tarnished will know they successfully struck a weak point when flames seemingly bleed from these areas.

Once players have attacked the Stormhill Golem weak spots several times, there’s a chance the warrior will tumble to the earth, leaving the Golem boss in Elden Ring highly vulnerable for a short period. During this moment, continue attacking its weak points or focus on striking another soft spot, its blazing chest. Once the Golem gets up, repeat the process until it is defeated. Players can ride atop Torrent if they require extra speed for escaping the Golem’s mighty blows. After the Stormhill Golem falls, players will receive several hundreds of Runes.

Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
