The family convict explodes when Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon go after their mom June for the cost of her drug addiction.
In a preview of Mana June: Family Crisis, Mama June and her husband Justin Shroud sit down with the ladies to discuss the missing funds from Honey Boo Boo’s Coogan account.
Pumpkin brings receipts that something is wrong by presenting a whiteboard with Honey Boo Boo’s earnings and Mama June’s transactions from the account. Pointing out Honey Boo Boo’s appearances, as well as out-of-state taxes and money Mama June spent, Pumpkin declared that $35,728 was missing from the account.
Quick to respond to information, Mama June was ready to defend herself. “Well, you won’t even let me talk,” Mom June was heard telling Pumpkin.
However, Pumpkin was none of her mother’s excuses and accused her of trying to avoid her betrayal.
“[I’m] Don’t ignore the facts,” said Mama June. She then asked if Pumpkin expects her to return the funds to Honey Boo Boo after the performance.
“If mom wants to have a relationship with me, she has to pay me back,” Honey Boo Boo said in a confessional. “Because one thing I don’t do is not hang around any ‘thief’ who can seal my money. “You were the one who stole it, so you should pay me back.”

Continuing to talk about the missing funds, Pumpkin noted that the money could have been used to pay for two semesters of her sister’s college education. But Mom June responded that she didn’t expect her youngest daughter to stay in college. She also doesn’t want to pay tuition just because her daughter drops out of school.
“You are being [a] “negative bitch!” Pumpkin declared. “You are not a supportive mother!…Who cares?! Is it investing in your daughter if you lost 10 grand?
Pumpkin then said that Mama June lost the family a lot more money in the past. “You lost $500,000 for a bag of fucking crack, bitch! God forbid Alana drops out of college and wastes 10 grand.”
While Mama June defends herself by telling her daughter that she doesn’t tell them what to do with their money, Honey Boo Boo explained that no one was angry about her refusal to help her pay her college tuition.
“I don’t even want you to pay for college,” he said. “I just want my $35,000 back in my account so I can pay for college.”
Mama June was banned from visiting Thompson at university following the heated argument.
