Khurana was a student of medical science at BCM Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana. Her father wanted her to become a nurse but Himanshi was more inclined towards artistic activities. When she was in 11th grade, a family friend took her photographs and noticed that Himanshi was very photogenic. He asked her to try her hand at modeling. On his advice, she participated in the Miss Ludhiana contest and emerged as the winner of the show. In 2010, she was one of the finalists in Miss PTC Punjabi. Gill’s comment did not go down well with the actress and she became so angry that she went live through her Instagram handle and accused him of having affairs with several people including Khurrana’s brother. The war of words did not end here but reached the stage where both released songs targeting each other.
