The two fan-favorite network stars have teamed up to star in the film, which was in cooperation with the US Air Force and the Thunderbirds.
Here’s the full rundown: Shortly after Captain Emma Fitzgerald (Hemmens) arrives at Nellis Air Force Base for her two-year assignment on the famed Thunderbirds team, her shy 11-year-old daughter, Lucy (Pietra Castro) , she befriends Alice (Georgia Acken), whose civil father, Paul (Matter), a widower, is raising her alone.
Alice is in awe of Emma, as she dreams of one day becoming a pilot despite suffering from heart disease. As the quartet spends time together, the girls decide to play matchmaker in the hopes that a romance will lead Emma to put down roots instead of moving again when she finishes her time with the Thunderbirds.
Emma and Paul are attracted to each other and a spark arises, but Emma becomes overwhelmed by the demands of her training with the Thunderbirds and tells him he needs to focus on flying. But when Alice’s health suddenly declines, what separates Emma and Paul could be what finally brings them all together.
For the film, the Department of Defense provided access to the film at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada, and fans will also be able to see exciting flight footage, courtesy of the Department of the Air Force.
