Hare Ram worked as a compounder in Jawaharlal Medical College, Bhagalpur. However, he left his job in 1983 due to personal reasons and started farming with his family.
Narayan Seva Ashram
In October 2023, during his appearance on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, Hare Ram shared that he had rescued an abandoned newborn baby girl from the bushes of his village on 9 December 2004. Her treatment lasted for about 21 days, after which she completely recovered.

Hare Ram’s son, daughter-in-law and wife also help him in this work. Her daughter-in-law, Gayatri, takes care of all the responsibilities of the girls while helping them learn arts and other skills. Thus, what Hare Ram started as a small act of kindness, his children are carrying it forward.

- In a media interview in 2022, he had revealed that he had taken the responsibility of raising a girl in his family, who had lost her mother in her childhood.
