Hardwar Dubey (1949–2023) was an Indian politician associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was a sitting Rajya Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh. He served as Minister of State for Finance in the Government of Uttar Pradesh from 24 June 1991 to 6 December 1992. He died on 26 June 2023 at Fortis Hospital, Delhi due to prolonged illness.

In a remarkable achievement, he contested elections for the first time in 1989 and won the Cantonment (Uttar Pradesh) seat, which had been under Congress control since independence. Recognizing his abilities, the party handed him another chance in the 1991 elections and he performed as expected. After his second victory, he was appointed as the Minister of State for Institutional Finance in the state. However, due to controversies, he had to resign from the post of minister within a year.

Subsequently, the dynamics changed and he faced challenges in demonstrating his electoral strength. Nonetheless, his influence within the organization continued. In 2005, he contested the by-election from Kheragarh assembly constituency but faced defeat. Moreover, he had earlier faced defeat in the Agra-Firozabad Legislative Council elections.

In 2011, he assumed the role of state spokesperson and in 2013, he was appointed state vice president. On 26 November 2020, Hardwar Dubey was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh.

Death
