Death
Sandhu committed suicide on 9 December 2021 at his residence in Street No. 4, Harinder Nagar, Faridkot, Punjab. Her parents reported that the cause of her death was that she was not happy with her performance at the 64th National Shooting Championship held in Peru.

- Before becoming a professional shooter, Sandhu was a swimmer. He had won many medals at the national level in swimming.
- In 2017, his father felt that there was not much scope in swimming, so he asked him to start practicing shooting.

- After almost two years of training, she won 11 individual medals and seven team medals in the 25m pistol and 10m air pistol events in 2019.
Sandhu won medals in 25 meter pistol and 10 meter air pistol events.
- Sandu had committed suicide by shooting himself on the temple with his licensed .22 pistol. She was found dead on the morning of 9 December 2021. Reportedly, he shot himself due to being unhappy with his performance in the 64th National Shooting Championship.
- At the tournament, she won team medals in the junior civilian women’s team events, but could not earn any individual medals. This experience made him sad.

- In an interview, her parents told that she had returned from Delhi a week before her death. he adds,
His performance during the Nationals this year was not good. However, he showed no obvious signs of despair. If he had shared with us the problem he faced, we could have given him advice.
- Her parents further informed that she was studying on the ground floor at night on 8 December 2021, while all other family members were sleeping on the second floor.
- In an interview, his coach Sukhraj Kaur talked about Sandhu and his behavior with the team and said,
She always showed a willingness to learn. When we returned from Delhi after the Nationals earlier this week, she was a little sad. But we did not know that she would take such a tragic step. We invite sports psychologists twice a year to advise our shooters. It is sad to lose the life of such a talented child.”
- Police said that no suicide note was found at the incident site. He also informed that the investigation will be proceeded under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).

We received a call from the control room that a girl had allegedly shot herself in her house in street number 4, Harinder Nagar, Faridkot on Thursday morning. On reaching there we found the dead body of 17 year old Khush Seerat Kaur Sandhu. He shot himself with his .22 pistol and died of head injuries. According to the family, she was disappointed with her performance at the Nationals held in Delhi earlier this week. We have handed over the body to the family after the post-mortem and started investigation.
