Hamza started his political journey in 2011 after being elected as the General Secretary of Punjab by Pakistan Muslim League (N). In 2008, he contested the Pakistan general election as an independent candidate, but could not win the seat. In 2008, he was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan as a Pakistan Muslim League (N) candidate. He was re-elected to the National Assembly as a PML-N candidate in 2013 and 2018. In 2018, he was also elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as a PML-N candidate in the general election of Pakistan. Corruption allegations against Hamza
On 11 June 2019, Hamza was accused of money laundering and possessing disproportionate assets, and was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau on corruption charges.
Money transactions through benami accounts
In 2021, Hamza was accused of transferring money. 16.3 billion through 28 benami accounts. According to the agency, these accounts belonged to eleven employees of Sharif Group. In 2021, Hamza and his father were arrested in this case.
sugar scandal case
In 2020, Hamza was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency in a sugar scam case. The agency alleged that Rs. $25 billion was transferred using fake accounts by employees of Ramzan (RSML) and AI-Arabia Sugar Mills (ASML). Hamza said that these transactions were business related. He was granted bail on 24 February 2021.
