Gypsy Rose Blanchard and her husband reveal how they met and fell in love while she was in prison

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is officially a free woman and can now live happily ever after with her husband Ryan Scott Anderson.

For those who don’t know, Gypsy got married in a small prison ceremony in July 2022. The 32-year-old, a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, was serving eight years in prison for the murder of her mother Dee Dee Blanchard.

The prison where Gypsy was held does not allow conjugal visits, so the newlyweds were unable to consummate their marriage. They will finally get the chance now that she is free.

In a new interview, Gypsy and Ryan talked about how they met and what it was like to fall in love while she was in lockdown.

He said: “She told me the main reason [she responded] It was probably because I was from Louisiana. [Gypsy’s original home state]. So I credit that as the most important thing.”

“I remember getting butterflies when we were emailing, but what really made me stand out was the first time I heard his voice,” she said.

Gypsy opened up about her love for Ryan.

“Ryan has helped me get through some really good times and some really tough times. “I would say he is probably the most compassionate soul I have ever met and the most patient,” he said. “God knows he is very patient with me, because he could be very difficult to handle. It could be an emotional problem.”

Gypsy added: “We are in love… It is difficult because I am going to start a new life, I am newly married and one day I will have children and I will have to explain to my children why their grandmother on their mother’s side is not present. And that will be a really difficult conversation.”

Gypsy is optimistic about life as a liberated married woman.

“I don’t foresee any major difficulties,” he said. “I think this, being in prison, has been the difficult part. I believe that when I am at home with my family, with my husband’s arms around me and surrounded by my loved ones, then I will be happy.”
