Almost six years after marrying her second husband, Brad Falchuk, Gwyneth Paltrow is opening up about the struggles she went through when she first became a stepmother to the producer’s two children.
Page six reports that during the Visionary Women’s International Women’s Day Summit earlier this week, the Marvel star opened up about how being a stepmom is “really hard.”
“Yeah, it’s ab-, right guys?” Gwyneth Paltrow testified asking if there are any other stepmothers in the audience. “No, actually I really like talking about this because it is one of my greatest learnings as a human being.”
Paltrow also said that her area of personal growth was the difficult initial relationship she had with her stepchildren, Isabella and Brody. She is also mother to her daughter Apple and her son Moses, whom she shares with her ex-husband Chris Martin.
“The road to get here was really difficult,” Gwyneth Palton admitted. “It’s almost like you have to embody the spirit of the sun and just give and expect nothing in return. “I learned to try to keep shining like the sun and never keep score.”
The discussion about Paltrow’s stepmother comes after her ex proposed to his long-time girlfriend, Dakota Johnson. According to the Mirror, the proposal came about “some time ago.”
“They’ve been in love with each other since day one,” a source explained. “So taking the next step was inevitable. “They are in no rush to plan the wedding, they are just enjoying making their engagement official.”

During a recent interview with Bustle, Dakota Johnson opened up about how she feels about being the stepmom to Gwyneth Paltrow’s children.
“I love those kids like my life depended on it. With all my heart,” Johnson said. He then talked about the possibility of having his own children in the future.
“How do I feel about motherhood? “I’m very open to that,” she continued. “I’ve come to this place where I really want to experience everything life has to offer.”
“And especially being a woman, I think, ‘What a magical thing to do.’ What a crazy, magical and wild experience. If that has to happen to me, I’m all for it. We won’t be here for long, so if I’m meant to be a mother, go for it.”
