Guy Junker’s Career
Junker has worked for Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 as a daily sports reporter and weekend sports host for WTAE. He returned to the station in 2006 after working there for six years from 1984 to 1990. Furthermore, he ended his career in broadcasting at the end of April 2022 after more than four decades of service.
He held a number of positions during a quarter-century at the station, including sports director and sports producer. During his time at WTAE, he worked as a national presenter for SNN in Washington, DC. He has also hosted pre-match and post-match shows on Steelers Radio Network for over ten years.
He also spent 13 years working for Fox Sports as a co-host of the Pirates and Penguins pre- and post-game shows. He also hosted “Penn State Football Story” for 23 years. He won eight regional Emmys for best sports series during his hosting tenure. He received the 2001 Chris Schenkel Award from the NFL/NFF Coaching Academy.
