Kevin McHale recalled an “intervention” his Glee co-stars Naya Rivera and Jenna Ushkowitz staged for him.

During the podcast episode, Kevin explained that the conversation ended during a long flight to London, where the cast had a performance at X Factor. It was right around the time they were filming the massive Super Bowl episode of the show, where he had a major role in the mash-up of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Heads Will Roll.”
He recalled being “on all kinds of drugs, including prednisone, which is a steroid, and it turned me into a monster.” He said that he also gave him the “courage” to perform the big number.
His friends noticed and started a conversation.
Cory [Monteith] and we had dinner together and you and Naya were one more than me, “he recalled. “And everyone was like, ‘Hey, so why are you on these steroids?’”
He replied that he was sick and they prescribed it (which Jenna also reiterated). However, they asked him if it was the antibiotic and recommended that he stop taking it otherwise.
You are not sleeping. You are acting crazy. You have to stop taking them,” they told him, and Kevin finally agreed. “I was like, ‘You’re right.’ He hadn’t slept in days. I was losing my mind,’” he said.
He added that “it was a hard lesson to learn.”
Kevin is not the only one happiness star to reveal that Naya started a tough conversation with them about their personal battles. More specifically, Heather Morris explained that her on-screen lover of hers of hers addressed her struggle with an eating disorder.
