Lami, a former SM rookie, has finally been confirmed to be acting. On December 9, SM Entertainment officially confirmed that she has turned 19 and will be debuting as an actress through her agency. According to the agency:
“It’s true that Lami will debut in SM.”
She was announced as a trainee in the pre-debut group SM Rookies in 2013, along with Irene and Jaehyun, who had not yet debuted at the time. Irene and Jaehyun are currently members of K-pop groups Red Velvet and NCT. Lami first appeared when she was ten years old. She has been inactive since 2016 and netizens have been wondering where she is. Fans were delighted after hearing the news and the matter sparked a heated debate on social media.

Fans are excited about the return of the former SM rookie as an actor. They were overjoyed when it returned to the small screen. She had previously acted as a child actress and they were delighted to be able to reprise the roles on TV. Fans can now believe that she has returned to SM. Soon after the news broke, Twitter was flooded with photos of the graduate trainee as fans congratulated her on the great news. Some fans even joined in a flashback of the former trainee’s younger days.
