Former professional wrestler and congressional candidate Daniel Rodimer arrested on murder charges

Daniel Rodimer, a former professional wrestler and congressional candidate from Nevada, has reportedly been arrested on murder charges.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, an arrest warrant has been issued for Rodimer in connection with the death of Christopher Tapp. The victim died after an altercation inside a resort room before being located and transported to a nearby hospital. She subsequently succumbed to his injuries and died.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office has since ruled Tapp’s death a homicide as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.

The incident report, which was published by The Las Vegas Review, revealed that Tapp had allegedly offered Daniel Rodimer’s stepdaughter cocaine or other drugs during a party at a Resorts World suite.

“Visibly upset” by the situation, Rodimer was said to have gone to the bathroom where Tapp was and was heard declaring, “If you ever talk to my daughter again, I will kill you.”

It was later revealed that two loud noises were heard immediately after the threat. A witness claimed that Rodmier hit Tapp. About 20 to 30 minutes later, medical personnel arrived on scene and took Tapp to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Daniel Rodimer’s lawyer, David Chesnoff, stated that he voluntarily surrendered to the authorities. He will also post court-ordered bail.

“He intends to vigorously contest the allegations,” Chesnoff explained. “And calls for respect for the presumption of innocence guaranteed to all Americans.”

Daniel Rodimer lost his temper and hit Christopher Tapp ‘all over the head and body’

Meanwhile, the police report reveals that a fellow witness claimed that Daniel Rodimer immediately lost his temper. He then began punching Christopher Tapp on various parts of his body.

“[He knocked] “Christopher to the ground, at which point Christopher’s head hit a small table,” the witness said. “Dan proceeded to punch Christopher all over the head and body.”

The witness further noted that Daniel Rodimer was the instigator and said Tapp was not fighting back. They also said they left the room because they did not want to “continue to witness what [Rodimer] was doing for [Tapp] because it was ‘disgusting.'”

A Resorts World security guard told police at the time that he tried to walk with Tapp. Notably, Tapp had been lying on the bed in the hotel room after the incident. The security guard said that Tapp’s speech was slurred and that he had difficulty answering questions.

According to police documents, Rodimer had spoken to a woman named Sarah about what happened to Tapp. She allegedly questioned him about child and spousal support and then referred to him as a “monster.”

“I saw you almost murder,” Sarah claimed in the text messages. “Someone and I had to get your fucking hands off his neck while he was lying there and you escaped, and I spent the next two hours trying to take care of him. “No one should have to see her husband murder someone.”

It is noted that Rodimer’s wife is named Sarah. However, there was no indication that he was speaking to his wife.

Rodimer was in WWE from 2006 to 2007. He ran and lost his bid for Nevada’s 3rd district in 2020. He then announced his run for Congress in Texas’ 6th district in 2021, but ended up losing that race as well.
