On October 24, 2021, Floriane Bascou was crowned Miss Martinique, winning over eight other contenders in Fort-de-France, replacing Sephorah Azur.

Due to the inability of Diane Lear (Miss France 2022) to compete in the international pageant, the Miss France Organization confirmed on October 11, 2022 that Florian Bascu will represent France at the Miss Universe 2022 pageant. The event took place on January 14, 2023 in New Orleans, United States. Floriane became the first Miss Martinique to represent France at the Miss Universe pageant. Her national costume, created by designer Kenvi Clothing for the event, was inspired by the French national holiday of July 14. Florian’s journey in the competition ended just before the top 16.

- Florian Bascu is also the brother of Olympic medalist Dimitri Bascu. His elder brother Dmitry specializes in 110 meters hurdles. He won a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and was a European champion.
