What is a Fête event?
Fêtes is described as a “big game” consisting of five FATE-like missions, each of which takes a few minutes to complete. Most quests involve interacting with NPCs and objects to earn points–basically small fetch and take missions, but surrounded by many other players in a festive setting party, celebrate.
You will receive several rewards: First, you will receive a Fête Gift, which includes a variety of cosmetics, or a Fête Token that can be exchanged for rewards.
You can also earn Skybuilders’ Scrip from these small activities. Although the amount is small, it also helps you save some money to buy the items you love.
In the end, you’ll only get a negligible amount of experience for any crafting or gathering work you do. Not much at all, so it’s not really a leveling event.
How to join Fetes
All Festivals are held at The Firmament in Ishgard, so you must first unlock that area via the 60-level “Go to Firmament” side quest.
Next, talk to nearby Augebert (marked with a narrow yellow side quest) to start a series of side quests that introduce you to NPCs of interest in the area.
This will unlock the next quest in the Firmament quest chain as well as the ability to join the Fêtes. You can teleport to Firmament by interacting with Aetheryte in the Foundation Aetheryte Plaza.
A set of Festivals that take place every two hours in the real world over a twenty-four hour period. Then there is a delay of a day or two before they start again. While in Firmament, you can check the time left for the next Fête in the screen at the top of your quest list.
When Fête starts, simply change to Disciple of Hands or Disciple of Earth and click the “Join FATE” button when it appears. There is no score requirement.
Holiday tips
Festivals tend to attract a lot of players, and trying to tap an important NPC in a sea of characters will quickly test your patience.
I recommend going to System > Key Bindings > Targets first and looking for “Target the nearest object or NPC”. This is the button you’ll press during most Festivals to aim for shiny objects on the ground and talk to NPCs. By default I think it is set to numpad 0.
Under System > Keybinding > System, at the top of the list is “Confirmation”. After you aim at an object, this is the button you press to interact with that object. For NPCs, you can simply send this button to continue the conversation and even transfer your items.
If you’re late and the timer bar is almost full, don’t panic. For submitted Fêtes, once filled, you have 1 more minute to earn points, so even if you are a little late you can still earn a Gold rating.
Instead, don’t feel obligated to play all five games. If you only have a few minutes, then you can jump out early. Remember to wait until the current Festival is over so you can win gifts for events you’ve attended.
A Twist of Fête (Gold Rank: 6 points)
This is the first Fête in the series, held at Bright Ballad’s Passage. The closest piece of etheric crystal is probably Risensong West Quarter. You’ll have a minute or two to get to this area [11.4, 8.1] Before the large Fête indicator appears on the display.
The first and foremost thing you have to do for this game is to click the “Join FATE” button in the mission list. This will place three emojis on your hotbar, which are required to earn points. Sometimes you’ll see emoji messages in chat from players who didn’t click the button. Remind them to join FATE so they can access the nodes they need.
Watch the mascots carefully, when they show an expression, you want to target them and respond with an expression. There will usually be a large group of them, but you can click on the NPCs on their platform. You can also run to them and use your hotkeys to target the nearest NPC.
They will take 11 actions in total, but you only need 6 points for your gold rating.
Made of softer material (Gold rating: 3 points)
Head south to the second Fête in the chain, at Mattock [11.7, 13.2].
Interact with a box of stuffed toy materials to create toys. Next interact with the Big Moogle stuffed animal to pick it up. Then run and interact with the wagon to drop the toy, earning you a point. It’s that simple, but sometimes I forget to pick up the toys before I run to the car!
Sprint cannot be used while carrying a toy, if you use sprint before picking up the toy, the sprint buff will drop immediately when the toy is picked up. So the best way to sprint is when you come back from Wain to sew another toy empty-handed.
Shear-a-Yak (Gold Rank: 4 points)
Back to Bright Ballad [11.4, 8.1] The third festival where you will see a giant yak.
Clicking the “Join FATE” button will place an action on your hotbar to use the Aerodynamic Clipper. Aim for Wooly Yak and shoot scissors, then collect three piles of shiny Yak Wool nearby. You have to hunt them around, but there are limited places where they can spawn. Try to see where the other players are kneeling on the ground.
Once you have all three, hand them over to the Chirpy Chocobo for points. Pressing the “confirm” key combination when submitting an item will scan the text very quickly and even select the item for your turn if it is at the top of the important item list.
Toy Hunter (Gold rating: 4 points)
Follow the crowd to the Fourth Annual Fête of Abacus [9.4, 11.2] On the west side of Firmament, then click the “Join FATE” button when it appears.
You will search boxes to find toys and exchange them for points. In the middle of the yard there is a flower pot, both left and right have flower pots.
If you tick a box and there is no lucky toy in it, you will quickly turn into a pig. Run to the next box when you are in pig form and when it disappears you can continue searching for the next box.
Remember to use the “confirm” key combination when handing the toy over to the NPC. Assuming you don’t have other important items in your inventory, I find it faster than using the mouse.
Gift of the Soul (Gold rating: 6 points)
The last festival in the series takes place again in Mattock [12.2, 11.9].
Clicking the “Join FATE” button, you can claim a gift and give it to one of the waiting NPCs. You will be able to interact with a gift stack twice, then there will be a different color for both gifts, etc.
Pink “gift for you” for Sky Girls and Sky Boys.
The yellow “merchant gift” is given to foreign merchants and Ishgardian merchants.
Orange “Craftsman Gifts” for Tiangang Engineers and Jamel Mason House.
Since you only need 6 points, you only need to give gifts to each NPC once.
Reward – Fête Gift
All 5 Festivals take about 25 minutes to complete, and if you get Gold in every way, you’ll earn a total of 10 Festival Gifts.
When each Fête is completed, you must remain a Disciple of the Hand or Disciple of the Earth to receive the reward. If you’re fighting when the timer runs out, you won’t get anything, no matter how many points you earn.
Most of the Fête gifts I’ve opened offer Fête Tokens, but you’ll also come across a variety of decorations, including home items, emojis, hairstyles, waistcoats, orchestra rolls , clothes, dyes, minions and antelope mounts.
u/maglen69 on the ffxiv subreddit provided the result of opening 500 gifts. Most of the time you will get tokens, but sometimes it’s nice to get random cosmetics, especially if you don’t have one or it’s worth buying on the market.
In particular, the dyes that you can get seem to be limited to the rarer ones, such as the more vibrant dragon blue, cherry pink, canary yellow, etc., or those with generic labels. rainbow.
Spend Fête tokens
At Firmament, you can meet Enie at The Mendicant’s Court Use your Fête Tokens together [12.0, 14.0].
The most expensive items are the Peace Lover’s Outfit Box (charm set) for 50 tokens and Antelope Horn (mountain) for 30 tokens.

I strongly recommend you to check your server’s market table before spending your tokens. Mounts can be very cheap, and enchantment sets can also be purchased in the box or purchased individually.
These are much larger than I expected.
You can also exchange tokens for two balloons for outdoor decoration and three shiny dyes for your charm needs.

If you’re not interested in any of these, you can use the token for premium non-combat materials of your choice.

Spend Skybuilders Tokens
You get 100 Skybuilders Scripts per Gold Rank, for a total of 500 Scripts per set. It’s not enough to buy any items of great value right away, but it’s still a nice bonus.
Skybuilders’ Scrip can be spent with the same provider, Enie at the Court of The Mendicant [12.0, 14.0]. She has more merchandise for this currency, so if you want a lot you may need to use Diadem to grind them outside of these Festivals.
If you only get Scrips from Fêtes, then I recommend saving them as market-banned items, as you can’t buy items with gil from other players.
Some options are the Pegasus mount, the Dress-up follower Estinien or Pegasus Colt, or the Lizbeth or Ehll Tou Trio Card.
If you’re not saving up for anything specific, there are a variety of bright dyes for sale on the Market Board, each costing 100 Skymaker Tickets.
Summary: Is Fêtes worth the time?
While the actual gameplay of Fêtes is not very exciting, it takes little effort, little investment, and gives you a good non-combat experience as well as some cosmetic bonuses to enjoy or market. .
Among the rewards that can be exchanged for tokens, dyes and non-combat materials are the most expensive in the market due to their consumable nature, so some gold coins can be crafted easily .
If you’re a collector, you’ll want to get your hands on these exclusive sets of charms and mounts. Of course, these are commercially available, so you don’t really have to run Fêtes to get them. In fact, you should definitely check the prices in the market before buying those expensive items.
The mount’s price has dropped too low on my server so it makes more sense to buy it to get gil and use the token for other things.
If none of the above sounds appealing, such as GATEs on a Gold Disc, if you happen to be in the area at the right time, I recommend attending at least one session to experience the content. .
