Anabaseios: The Ninth Circle is the first encounter of the third and final season, the popular raid content released with patch 6.4 Final Fantasy XIV: Doom Walker. Available at level 90 after completing the quest Abyssos: The Eighth Circle One Final Wish and unlocked by the quest Eater of Souls. It can be done via quest finder with minimum ilv of 615 and rewards Anabaseios Unsung tokens for each device type, which can be transferred to Djole at Meghaduta (x:10.3, y:9.7) in Radz-at-Han. Mylenie at (x:8.4, y:27.7) in Aporia, Labyrinthos will also exchange Anabaseios Unsung tokens for the device.
For the sake of your other players, keep in mind that this is new (at launch) content. A little friendly explanation can go a long way. Likewise, don’t be afraid to take advice. You may learn something that you don’t know.
Coquitos
state 1
- Gluttony’s Augur – Inevitable Raid Damage
- Loot – Bosses consume a soul to use their abilities. This indicates a transition period. This is the caster phase.
- Flame III – Four players will be marked with a triangle surrounding the fire above their heads and a circular AoE of the same color of flame moving across the ground around them. Almost immediately, an image will flash in the center of the screen. This shape (red triangle for fire, blue hexagon for ice) will tell you which corresponding AoE will be larger. The first is always fire.
- Snowstorm III – An ice donut will form at the edge of the arena. Like the Fire III, a flickering shape in the center of the screen. This is always a blue hexagon. This suggests that Ice’s AoE will be larger, narrowing the safety of the arena’s center.
- Dualspell – Moving Fire AoE (only 3 here) and Ice Donut will use. As with two tier III spells, a shape appears in the center of your vision.
- In the case of the red triangle, the marked players need to be evenly spaced and close to the edges of the stone donut, leaving a safe space in the center.
- In the case of the blue hexagon, 3 fire AoEs need to spread among each other and unmarked players, while also dealing with donuts that narrow the safe space in the center.
- Global Spell – AoE the entire raid inevitably applies the Bleed debuff.
Phase 2
- Looting – melee/monk stage.
- Ancient Stonebreaker – Knockback from Center Pulse blue AoE. Do not touch it! Knockback Nullifiers will work here. After the initial return hit, the line of fire will travel along cracks in the floor, exploding in a sizable circular AoE when it ends.
- Ancient Destruction – Two teams of light revolve around healers. Divide into (approximately) groups of four.
- Fortune Teller
- Ascendant Fist – buster tank.
- Front combo – Boss will place a self-centered AoE donut on the floor. When extinguished, it will attack 180° in the field in front of it.
third stage
- Plunder – monster stage
- Charybdis – Four players will be marked to travel, circle AoE. They erupted into a vortex that remained on the battlefield.
- Roar of the Beast – A return hit will occur in the center of the arena and four players will be marked as four new moving circles. The player will need to attempt to take down the player currently marked with the loop still on the ground of Charybdis. You may want to use a feedback nullifier.
- Pulverizing Pounce – One set.
- Gluttony Rampage – Both tanks will be marked as Tank Busters respectively. They are also tied to the boss at close range, and must leave until the rope thins and turns purple to avoid taking unnecessary damage. After each turn the tank is bitten, the boss will jump in the middle, causing AoE based on distance, so move to the edge of the field.
- Comet – The comet will fall into the three quadrants of the field. Move to the edge of the open quadrant.
- Zodiac Meteor – Find and hide behind a falling comet with no glowing cracks, then move away from the comet before it explodes.
- break
fourth stage
- Loot – We’re back to magic mode.
- Call of Ice Flame – Four magic orbs will be placed on the field: two fireballs, two ice balls, all of which will mark the ground below them. A red triangle or blue hexagon will flash on your screen to indicate which sign to develop, just like before.
- The red triangle represents movement between the blue circles.
- The blue hexagon represents movement between the red circles.
- Ice Flame Call
- Song Dinh
- global mantra
fifth stage
- Looting – melee/monk stage.
- Ancient stone breakers
- Card Combination – Like the previous combo, the boss will place an AoE donut as the center on the floor. However, this time, guess what, the 180° cut associated with this one will be left behind.
- Fortune Teller
- Hands up
sixth stage
- Plunder – monster stage
- comet
- Zodiacal Meteor – This time includes four moving AoE circles.
- break
- Gluttony
Stages 4-6 can be repeated until failure.
