FFXIV Challenge Log Tasks and Rewards

The Challenge Log in FFXIV is a collection of weekly quests to complete (resets on Tuesday) that reward you with additional gold, experience, and other resources. These challenges cover a variety of activities you can do in the game, so there’s something for everyone.

You can certainly complete them in short time, but they can be easily completed in a week, just by completing your daily quests like Roulette, Beast Horde and Retainer Adventures. This works best if you plan on playing most of the time.

In this post, I will detail what you can get from the Challenge Log, how to unlock it, and what activities are included in the weekly quests.

How to unlock challenge log

To start using the Challenge Log, you need to unlock it by completing the “Meet the Challenge” quest given to you by I’tolwann in “Drowning Girl” in Limsa Lominsa. After you unlock the hot air balloon ride, you’ll pass her on the main scenario mission and be asked to talk to Drowning Girl’s boss, Badlon. I recommend picking it up right away, as it’s a very short side quest that doesn’t even require you to leave Limsa.

If you’ve completed the first dungeon (Sastasha) but haven’t unlocked the challenge log (you can find it in Logs > Challenge Log), do that side quest as soon as you have time. When I started the game, I didn’t even know it existed until I reached level 20 or so. Oi.

Unlocking the challenge log benefits you passively, even if you don’t open it or think about it, as some of these quests can you do, such as dungeons. That’s why it’s good to pick it up right away, especially for new players who are still at a low level.

Challenge diary category

There are 12 categories in total, but you can only unlock one after unlocking the relevant content. For example, you won’t see the Gold Disc tab until you unlock the Gold Disc. The same goes for Treasure Hunt, Eureka, etc.

Challenge Log Rewards

Jill

By far the most popular bonus in journaling is gil, found in most categories. You could theoretically get 108,000 gil just from the weekly challenge log bonus, but it’s unlikely you’ll get them all, as some of them are not worth your time at all if you do not perform them.

The biggest part of the gil comes from the “Complete” section, which means completing unique challenges from other parts of the log. You can easily earn a lot of this gil just by doing a little bit from several categories.

For example, let’s say you did the Roulette Dungeon quest 5 times in a week (every time complimenting someone). You’ve also completed 5 FATE and 2 Beast Horde daily missions, some of which you can complete while queuing for these missions.

These activities are enough to earn 6,000 gil from challenges, but on top of that, you can also earn another 10,000 gil from completing categories through mixed activities. Obviously, if your playtime varies slightly from week to week, you should have no trouble earning a steady amount of gold. You can earn up to 55,000 gil from completing the categories. I usually make 20,000 or 30,000 of these without making it my main goal.

experience

The challenge log really shines in helping you level up, as challenges that provide experience will earn you between 5% and 15% of the experience needed to get to the next level. This varies by challenge, so some pay more than others.

Remember that experience will be awarded for the job you are playing when the challenge is completed. If you are rewarded for the fifth time of the week at the highest job level, the challenge will be marked as completed and you will lose potential XP, so if you want to get as much XP as possible, go for it. do it in the refund section. attention later.

Hobby categories to earn XP in your Combat Work are Combat, FUTURE, or Level Quests. The level requirements for Combat Jobs are only available in the ARR region, and I personally enjoy using these challenges to level up an Artisan or Collector.

Of particular note here are your chocobo companions, who can gain a lot of experience from two challenges in the combat category, where you can beat battles against you while Calling his chocobo companions Enemies has different career levels in 10 levels.

For crafters and gatherers, you’ll need to complete the Level Quests or Crafting & Collecting portion of the challenge. If you want to level up a specific job with the “give it to me” challenge, you might want to do some other leveling up quests for different types of jobs first.

For example, if you wanted to claim the crafter experience bonus, you could first complete the Benevolence, Honesty, and Devotion ranks with the Collector, and then switch to the crafting job without you want and complete the ranks with the Perseverance and Charity leaderboard to complete the challenges.

Finally, if you’re working on increasing the levels of the elements in Eureka, that’s obviously the card you want to see to track your progress this week. This experience only affects your elemental level, so it will only help you level up in Eureka, no matter what job challenge you complete.

other currencies

You can earn some other currency from the challenge log. These are the Wolf Seal from the PvP Challenge, the MGP from the Gold Disc Challenge, and the Corporate Seal from the Great Company Challenge. If you’re trying to buy some PvP Charm gear, or if you haven’t finished tiering your Grand Company, check out these sections to help you get there.

If expensive mounts in Gold Saucer are your thing, the challenges in this section can go a long way towards winning you MGP. If you are looking for more tips to develop effective MGP, check out this article.

In short

The challenge log helps me a lot when I’m adjusting to alternate work or when I’m logged in and not sure what I want to do. I just turned it on to see if there was any interesting activity at the time. The game gives you a lot of free experience, gil and other resources just for very simple tasks. If you’re hurting for gil or trying to level up at another job, be sure to check your challenge log progress so far this week.

What challenges are you sure to complete on a regular basis? Let me know in the comments section.
