Although Travis Kelce wasn’t at the 2024 Golden Globes with his girlfriend Taylor Swift, he was supporting her in spirit… and maybe FaceTime.
According to Page Six, fans are speculating that Swift may have been FaceTiming with Kelce during the awards show last weekend. A camera notably caught the pop icon talking on her phone and moving it around the room while she sat next to Keleigh Sperry.
One eagle-eyed Swiftie pointed out that Taylor Swift could have been on the phone with Travis Kelce at the time. “It looks like she’s FaceTiming Travis,” they said. “You can read his lips.”
Notably, Kelce had to miss the big event because he had a game against the Los Angeles Chargers that same day. Swift was nominated in the new awards category that honors films of the year for her film and box office achievements.
During the show, host Jo Koy made a joke about Swift that sparked some criticism. “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.”
After the prank was made, cameras turned to Swift, who was seen looking at her as she took a sip of her drink. Swifties then suggested that she was talking to Kelce after Koy’s prank. “I think she pointed the camera at whoever she called her name and she said ‘piece of s**t’ because after that Keleigh started laughing.”
Jo Koy says she loves and supports Taylor Swift despite Golden Globes controversy
During his recent interview with Los Angeles Times, Jo Koy is opening up about the joke she made about Taylor Swift at the Golden Globes and her unimpressed reaction.
“What hurts me the most is that I just supported Taylor,” Koy said. He then pointed out that he supports her and loves her work. “I have nieces that I bought tickets for.”
Koy also noted that there was no ill intent in that joke toward Taylor Swift or even the NFL. “The joke is about the NFL and how they keep using cuts to [her]. And it is an obvious reason. I’m not saying anything anyone else is saying, and it’s obvious what that joke was. “It’s about the NFL.”
Koy also isn’t quite sure why the Taylor Swift joke was controversial. “It’s like, of everything that’s happened, this is the one you choose to pursue? I didn’t understand why because it was fun when I came out.”
Despite harsh criticism from Swifties, Koy added that at least Robert De Niro found his jokes funny. “Robert De Niro was dying, and I was looking at him and his wife was slapping his back and she was smiling and laughing and he was laughing, and when I did the whole thing about him being 80, she loved it.”
